Test Summary

Histone antibodies have been detected in 18-53% of patients with SLE. Up to 95% of patients with drug-induced lupus have histone antibodies and they are the predominant antibodies in these patients. Other types of SLE usually have a variety of antibodies.

Instructions

Avoid hemolysis.  Invert a minimum of 5 times then allow to clot in an upright position for 30 minutes.  Centrifuge the SST for at least 10 minutes.  Keep tightly stoppered.
