Hepatitis Acute Panel (AMA)

Test Summary

Hepatitis may caused by several viruses. The three most common causes are Hepatitis A, B, and C. Since symptoms for the various types of hepatitis are all the same, serology testing is useful in determining the etiologic agent of disease. This panel detects antigens or antibodies to the major causes of viral hepatitis.

Instructions

SST or Red top: Avoid hemolysis. Invert a minimum of 5 times, then allow to clot in an upright position for 30 minutes. Centrifuge the tube for at least 10 minutes. Keep tightly stoppered.
