Myoglobin, Urine
Order Code:
MYOGUR
Test Summary
Urine myoglobin is a diagnostic test used to measure the presence of myoglobin (a protein found in muscle tissue). Myoglobin is released into the bloodstream when muscle tissue is damaged and can pass into the urine if its levels become elevated. While this protein plays a crucial role in delivering oxygen to muscles, its presence in urine may indicate significant health concerns, such as muscle injury, rhabdomyolysis, or potential kidney damage.
