In EDTA plasma, BKV is intended for use as an aid in the management of BKV in transplant patient. In patients undergoing monitoring of BKV in EDTA plasma, serial DNA measurements can be used to indicate the need for potential treatment changes and to assess viral response to treatment.

Instructions
Whole blood should be collected in EDTA (lavender) top tube. Separate plasma from whole blood within 24 hours of collection by centrifugation. Transfer the plasma to a sterile, polypropylene screw-cap vial.
